I let the soak and the rinse till the water runs clear. You might need do this a couple of times. The blinds are easiest to handle once they are pulled all the method up when you take them off the window. Loosen them in the tub.

Thanks for this post one of the best ways to clean window blinds that I have discovered is to put them in the bathtub! I put warm/hot water and detergent such as mr clean. Make use of a cloth or soft brush wash them down then hang them outside in the sun to dry. If you have a deck by means of railing, drape them over, or specifically lay them down beyond.

Great piece of writing which I found really motivating. In my view but and unfortunatley so, the best technique to clean window blinds is to take them down and give them a sponge bath in the shower using pinesol or lysol or something along those lines. any kind of cleaner will be okay.

Great article! Actually, the longevity of wood shutters depends on the type of wood, quality of finish, and quality of assembly. On painted material, you really got to have good primer. If the shutters are built right (and those that are cost more), they’ll last for years and years.

You’re absolutely right that the thick wood in plantation shutter slats makes for a great insulator. I think the R-Value in synthetic shutters is even higher (like three times more). Timeless beauty meets functionality! What more could you ask for?
